The permanent collection covers 5,000 years of art history — ancient Egyptian works, European Old Masters, Impressionist paintings, a major American collection, African art, and one of the stronger pre-Columbian collections in the country. General admission to the permanent collection is free every day the museum is open, which puts it in rare company among institutions of its caliber.”
